Black-Bottom Banana Bars

Do I really need to tell you how good this was?

1/2 cup butter softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3 medium sized ripe bananas, smashed
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 cup baking cocoa
1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Pre heat oven to 350.

In a mixing bowl cream together butter and sugar. Add in vanilla and egg and mix well. Add bananas and stir in good.

In a separate bowl combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Mix good THEN add to banana mixture. Divide batter in half.

In one half add the chocolate chips. In the other half add the cocoa powder. Pour the cocoa batter into a greased 9x13 baking dish. Even out the layer.

Pour the remaining (non-cocoa) batter on top and even out the layer with a spoon. Make swirls with a knife.

Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes. You want the top to be a light golden brown. For me that took about 22 minutes =)

Let cool when done.
